Save Seaton Pool

Yes, it is almost 3 months since Seaton pool closed. We can also see the need for a facilty such as Seaton in the north of the city (what about Seaton pool itself?). What are the changes to the entries to pools in Plymouth? Have swimmers stopped swimming? Yes! Can the Council argue against this? How are the swimming lessons? Have any of children having PCC lessons ‘disappeared’ from this time last year? Yes! How are schools in the Plymouth area coping with the lack of pool time? Badly, from the sound of it (see the ‘Have your say’ page on this website).

How is the Life Centre getting on? It is certainly going to be great when it is completed (in 2012?). Plymouth needs a facility to replace Seaton Pool now (or open Seaton pool until the Life Centre is built). On this basis we argue that no planning permission should be granted for any change of use for the Seaton Pool site. We hope the opposition Councillors will support this call.
