The Southway by-election and more

There is no doubt that Tony Kirk’s by-election victory at Southway (on 22/23 of June) was not good for our campaign. We carry the link to the BBC website below:-

However, no matter which party is in the majority on the council, our cause is still just.

On the 19-6-06 there were many letters on the recent Council debate and the deterioration of Council services to the people of Plymouth. With thanks to the Evening Herald, we reproduce the letters below:-

The flood of letters to the Evening Herald continued on the 22-6-06 with more discussion on the Council meeting, more complaints about the congestion and the terrible swimming session times at Central Park and a green ink nutter who seems to just want to see his name in print. We reproduce the letters below and allow you to spot the nutter:-

The final item this week is that the pool and the statue are still there . We bring you the latest photograph from behind the fence (like watching paint dry) and another photograph of the statue.

We can see that there ain’t much physical exercise being done by most of the Labour councillors (and therefore not much swimming), but where do the staff from the SWRDA exercise and swim? Please let us know (and don’t say Pyramids Leisure Centre, Riverside Leisure Centre, Northbrook Swimming Pool, Middlemoor pool or the Exeter University pool at St Lukes). We know Exeter (Head Office of the SWRDA) has twice as many pools for half the population; we want to know where the staff at the Plymouth outpost swim. Is it at Central Park with the rest of us?
