A valuble resource for the people of Plymouth
There was a full Council meeting on the subject of swimming in the north of Plymouth on 12-6-06. A motion was put forward by the Conservatives and after a short debate a vote was held. Nothing to do with the forthcoming by-election but the motion was passed unanimously. With thanks to the Evening Herald we reproduce the story through the top link below. We also reproduce the editorial comment in the Evening Herald of the 13-6-06 and a letter from Andy Blofield pointing out some of the inconsistencies in Councillor Tudor Evans’s published words. We also carry a link to the relevant BBC website page.

It sounds like the Council meeting was a bit rowdy and possibly not up to the standards we expect of our elected representatives. However, we are going to have another one of these representatives on the 22-6-06 (who is going to be elected for the Southway ward). Please, please, please do not vote for the party that closed Seaton pool (that’s the Labour party if you have been away). Please tell your friends and relations. Also, please make a judgement on which of the two other (major) parties has the best chance of winning and vote for that party’s candidate. We also note that the Conservatives have stated in print that they would re-open Seaton Pool.
Finally we carry another link to the BBC website on the subject of children and swimming.
