A valuble resource for the people of Plymouth
Plymouth City Council; never slow to disappoint the people it is supposed to serve has excelled itself this time. The Evening Herald carried two letters on the 29th March (see below), one of which detailed the impossible position that the Plymouth pisces disabled swimming club has been put in. As was suggested on this website in early December 2005, there are going to be too many people wanting to use the limited pool time at weekends and the Pisces club has been ‘bumped’ to late on Sunday. This will create all sorts of problems for the disabled swimmers. Well, we did say…. However, something else we can say is that the Pisces club will not be the only group of pool users to be seriously affected. Public swimmers will wake up in a couple of weeks time and find there is nowhere to (seriously) swim. They will be surprised and extremely bitter. Why don’t we all act together now and keep Seaton pool open.
The Evening Herald also had an article written by Mike Longhurst on the 30-3-06. This gives the lowdown on Seaton pool and the villains (the Council and the SWRDA). The only issue that the Save Seaton pool campaign would take is that the changing rooms work very well. A couple of Seaton pool related letters are also included (see below), including a rant from Tudor Evans saying everything will be alright.
